Circling the same mountain
Today the Holy Spirit started talking to me about the difference between cycles and seasons. Some of you continue to circle the same mountain over and over, and never make progress. What was shown to me this past year was a different perspective around these cycles. For most of my life I always thought that we went around the same mountain over and over because we didn’t learn a particular lesson, and so we were being ‘circled back’ so we could get the needed lesson through our thick skull.
But I was corrected and brought into a higher revelation on the purpose of cycles. It is not that you are thick skulled and missed the lesson. No, it is actually because you overlooked a gift, a tool, a treasure that was hidden for you that would advance your next season.
God is a good father
You see, God is a good father and He would not send you into a place without the provision you need to accomplish what you were called there for. He is also patient, He is not worried about how long it takes for you to get there, He is only concerned with seeing your success where He takes you. He is outside of time, not concerned with it like we are. So, if He needs to circle you back around, it is not to punish you but to bless you, to bring you back to the place where you missed the gift, the tool, the provision.
Will we learn lessons in these times? Well, one would hope so. If only to learn that we sometimes need to turn aside and see the burning bush so we can grab the provision for our next season.
And then there are seasons
And then there are seasons; Seasons repeat themselves for the purpose of increasing productivity. We see Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall year after year. While we humans may have our favorite times of the year, nature values all of them, and so should we.
Winter is the time for rest
Winter is the time for rest, it is also the time of pruning. People often see pruning as something extremely painful, but there is a reason why it is done in the winter. That is actually when the plant is asleep. This is not a painful season for the plant, it is a relief! There is less for the plant to try and maintain in rest. These days are short because this season is just about you, your rest, your healing, your repair. This is attitude we need to approach pruning with. This season should be met with a huge THANK YOU JESUS!! Because He is releasing you of the burden of maintaining that which will not benefit you during this season of rest and healing.
Spring is the time for growth
Spring is the time of growth. It’s the time to wake up from your rest and get to work. This is when all of those places that were pruned will now be stretched further than they were in the last season. What is it you need to learn for this next season? Press in and find out! This is the season when your roots dig through the soil and reach deeper and further for the nutrients needed to grow. Buds of revelation will begin to appear in this season, some earlier than others, but none-the-less there is great revelation to be had! This is the season of promise for the fruit to come!
Summer is the time for harvest
Summer is the season of fruitfulness and harvest. This is when you need help, you need a community, you need to call in the harvesters because it will be more than what you alone can bring in. This is sun up to sun down bringing in the fruit, not to just fill your own barns but to be a blessing to those around you. These are long days because they were made not just for you, but for everyone around you.
Fall is the season for preparation
Fall is the season on preparation. This is when you get all of your ducks in a row and prep for your season of rest. The harvest is over; now it is time to freeze, can, preserve, and prepare. This is when you approach all of that fresh spring revelation and summer harvest with the mindset of preservation. This is when you reflect. This is when you pick out the meat and throw out the bones. This is when you marinate and stew in all that has been done in and through your life this year so that it can settle into your spirit and soul during your upcoming season of rest.
Every season has beauty and purpose
Every season is beautiful and purposeful. And every cycle is for your benefit.
We will go through all of it with much more ease if we stop fighting it, stop complaining about it, and recognize it as part of the journey He has us on; with a grateful heart, looking forward to what lies ahead and yet fully present in the season and cycle we are in so we don’t miss a thing.
Turn aside and look, what season are you in right now?
