2020: To SEE your DELIVERANCE & to DECLARE a NEW DAY
There is more significance to this new year, this new season, this new epoch than any other time I have experienced. Therefore, I will be transparent and say, it is challenging to effectively put it all into words without writing a novel. And, even then, I doubt we could contain the fullness of it. Actually, the truth is I don’t believe any of us can truly do it justice right now. We all see and hear in part, and I have the feeling that this is going to be a constant unfolding of revelation throughout this season. Undoubtedly, this is a weighty time, and it will require your ear to be pressed to the Father’s heart in order to function in all you are called to be and do.
20/20 is an optical reference to perfect sight
So, today I want to take a look at some of the more obvious significance to the number and year 2020:
As we all know, 20/20 is an optical reference to perfect sight. To SEE clearly you need 20/20 vision. If you do not see clearly it limits your ability to function in certain important areas of life. You tend to lose sight of the details and only see the overall picture. Lines become blurred, boundaries are unclear, directions are often missed, and the legality of loop-holes in the ‘fine print’ are missed. All of this can get us into hot water if we are missing the details. Without clear vision we are often going through life with a level of blindness; whether it be blinders that don’t allow our peripheral vision to operate at full capacity, obscurities that distract or distort what we see, lenses that view people and situations in a false light, or even blindfolds that keep us in the dark about our own situation.
So, this year in particular is a year to press in for CLEAR VISION.
WHY? Because your deliverance is coming and if you can’t see it then it may pass you by.
2020 means ‘deliverance’
We can see, in the concordance, that the number 2020 means ‘deliverance’ or rescue in Hebrew. What happens if we can’t ‘see’ our deliverance? If we can’t identify the time of our rescue? We miss it, and we remain stuck in the thing that is holding us captive. When we don’t see clearly, we may not recognize the very thing that is meant to save us. I’m not talking about being completely blind to something; yet blinded enough to not recognize it. Just like the scripture, “you entertain angels unaware”, this scripture isn’t saying they couldn’t ‘see’ the strangers, but that they are not aware of who and what they are.
In other instances, what about after Jesus’ was raised from the dead, when he walked with the men on the road and they did not recognize Him? They could not ‘see’ who He was? Or Proverbs that states, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” And we all know the little parable of the man drowning in the ocean; the boat came, the helicopter came, etc. but he was convinced that God himself was going to appear and save him. After he died and went to Heaven god said, “Who do you think sent the boat and helicopter?” Or what about the story of the burning bush? Don’t you think it is odd that Moses had to turn to SEE this incredible sight? It wasn’t that he had no peripheral impairment, it was the fact that he had to position himself to perceive it, and then he could see.
Therefore, this is the season to SEE, to recognize and perceive, our deliverance or we may miss it. In order to perceive that which is not yet seen we must also be expecting it.
What about the numbers?
The Hebrew calendar year for 19/2020 is 5780. While the number 57 is significant for this century, the number 80 is significant for this year and the following decade. For context, let’s look at the first 2 numbers 57, representing 5000 and 700.
5000 is 1000 (nation or clan) x 5 (grace, favor, five-fold). We see Jesus feeding the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 (union) fish. So, 5000 is peaking directly to His sheep, His nation, His clan/family, His kingdom. Those that are in union with Him, those that He feeds and gives grace and favor to. 700 is 100 (full harvest or complete flock) x 7 (rest, Sabbath, perfection, complete) So we can see in this century God is specifically speaking of His finishing work towards His people.
Create, Perceive, Declare
Throughout the creation story God created, perceived, and then declared, ‘it is good’. After that, everything was put in pace and He rested; Not because things were over, but because they were just beginning. The same is true for us. We need to perceive and declare the goodness of what He has created around us, not because it is already completed, but because it is just beginning.
80 is the numerical value for the Hebrew letter ‘Pey’ which means mouth. It is the 18th letter that follows the letter ‘Ayin’, which means to see. First you see, or perceive, then you declare.
Can you see the ongoing pattern here? We are seeing it throughout scripture, throughout systems He created, throughout time.
Finally, we see 2020 in the concordance in Greek, which represents a new day is about to begin. It means, ‘to let shine’. This isn’t that the new day already began, but it is about to begin. We perceive our deliverance into this new day, we declare it, and then it begins.
What begins? ‘IT’ begins…. and that ‘it’ is whatever you have perceived and declared.
What you declare will be created
It is key in this season to understand that what you declare will be created, it will begin. And what we declare is based on what we perceive. And what we perceive is often based on what we already believe. For out of the mouth proceeds from the heart.
Many people take this time, and the first of the year, to fast and pray about the new year coming. I would encourage you to press in and ask the Holy Spirit what is in your heart right now, so it can be dealt with before it skews your declarations over your new year. We may believe we know, but the heart can be deceiving so it is wise to open it to the father’s examination and let Him do His work in us.
Remember, we will create what we declare this year. We speak what we perceive based on what we believe. We form our beliefs around experiences, which may not always reflect Truth, but the emotion created around it. And those experiences become the lens in which we view everything through. Therefore, your lens may not be seeing with the perfect vision of truth but the muddied experience of it. This is the year to get that cleared up!
